Being at Fitch gives employees the best of both worlds - it allows us to be a part of the financial services world without the long and untimely working hours, especially for those in IT. At Fitch you get an excellent work life balance, a chance to challenge yourself and an opportunity to work on cutting edge tech.
After having worked with several clients in different geographies as an IT consultant, the work culture at Fitch immediately appealed to me. Staying on to become a full-time employee was an easy decision. Since then, I have grown from a developer, to a team leader to a Senior Director of IT over the past six years. Fitch’s excellently tailored Management and Leadership (Forward Path) training courses have helped boost my career enormously. Our objective of ‘Growing Fitch Careers First’ combined with the size of our company makes it the right fit for ambitious professionals, who value their overall quality of life.
Fitch truly cares about your career development and will challenge you in ways that will accelerate your development and leave your long-term goals fulfilled. No matter what role, you will interact with experts in the industry that are vital to the company’s success and will also take the time to mentor you and make sure you have all the knowledge to pass along and then become a mentor yourself. Fitch runs like a fine-tuned machine from top to bottom.
In my two years at Fitch, I have learned the ins and outs of operations and I continue to do so each day thanks to the support and knowledge of my colleagues. When I started in my role, I was part of a small operations team that had six associates. In the last two years, our team has grown substantially, having departments open up in Manchester and Singapore. One of the biggest thrills of my life has been being able to move to Singapore for six months to train new associates. Fitch has allowed me to interact with colleagues globally and has opened my eyes to different experiences and cultures that I didn’t think I would be exposed to. I quickly went from being a new hire to someone who mentors and develops new hires.
Public Finance Ratings
There are many great reasons to switch to Fitch. The work is always dynamic and interesting and colleagues never fail to be collegial, supportive, and intellectually curious. The organization itself has a great culture focused on production of high-quality ratings. Fitch’s great position atop global credit markets also makes it a great place to learn about and produce credit analyses and opinions that are highly valued by other market participants.
As a young professional, I could not have asked for a better place than Fitch to grow my career. I’ve been fortunate to have had the support of great mentors and managers every step of the way during my time at Fitch. Through their support, I’ve gotten the chance to work on many high-profile and dynamic initiatives such as major criteria revisions, building new operational systems, launching new rating research products, and even an internal transfer from the New York to the Hong Kong office.
